Majlis Pelancaran Kempen Bantuan Pemulihan Mangsa Banjir

Kempen Bantuan Pemulihan Mangsa Banjir is a joint project by PERSATUAN ALUMNI UNIVERSITI MALAYA (PAUM), UNIVERSITI MALAYA (UM), and RED CRESCENT FEDERAL TERRITORY KUALA LUMPUR. This program was launched by Professor Dato’ Amin in January 2015. Many locations were badly affected by the recent floods and many thousands of our population lost everything except for the clothes on their back. The affected communities needed help for an extended period to get through the trauma and their loss.

Many NGOs and Government agencies mobilized aids and assistance to help the flood victims. PAUM is moved by the plight of the flood victims and is planning to offer assistance on a long term basis until the selected individual, families or communities are back on their feet. The target group should benefit from the assistance extended to them. They may be children, the elderly and even the whole family.

A module of assistance with inputs from Red Crescent, will be developed for the selected category. The module will assist and transform the target group.

This will be scheduled for a specific duration and will involve a specific population in a specific location.
A little help during time of need will go along way and help the community.
Weeks of post flood through efforts by many NGO and the government have alleviated the conditions however more help is needed by many victims.

PAUM is focused to help school going children because many have lost everything and some cannot be replaced.
With the help of PBSM and the School head we will identify things that PAUM can assist. PAUM will be sending their specific needs while at the same time embark on more fund raising activities to raise more for the victims.

Main Objectives of the Kempen Bantuan Pemulihan Mangsa Banjir

• To assist our target communities to go through their traumatic post flood period by raising funds and donations in cash and kind.
• To mobilize the alumni and university fraternities to support those affected by the floods.
• To create a caring society especially among faculty, staff, students and alumni.
• To unite and promote better cooperation among UM fraternities and alumni groups to support community programs.
